What is a storm bottle?

A storm bottle, also known as a weather forecast bottle, is a weather forecasting tool originating in 18th-century Europe. It is said to be able to sensitively detect changes in light, temperature, and air pressure in the surrounding environment. When the weather is about to change, the chemicals inside the bottle undergo a series of reactions: the solution becomes cloudy and forms crystals of various shapes. It was used for weather forecasting during maritime navigation, hence the name “weather forecast bottle.”
